2021 Isuzu D-Max arrives in Malaysia

Just in, Isuzu Malaysia has confirmed the arrival of its third generation of the D-Max. One of the chart-toppers in the automaker’s lineup, the D-Max is one such pickup truck that enjoys wide recognition worldwide. Initially launched in 2019, the third-generation Isuzu D-Max was later revamped with tweaks around the exterior and the interior. 

As per reports from the COO of the Light Commercial Division from Isuzu Malaysia, the fast-track launch of the third-generation offering was only made possible with the joint efforts of Isuzu Motors. Further, the COO added, “As the fifth country in the world to launch this model after its global introduction in Thailand, it stands as a testament to the strong commitment from Isuzu Motors towards ensuring that the Malaysian market enjoys the latest selection of choice Isuzu vehicles”.

Overall, the new Isuzu D-Max has a total of seven variants on offer, the prices of the same are said to be between SGD 28k to SGD 45k. Interestingly, all the vehicles in the lineup are said to be sourced from Thailand, with plans to develop a local assembly down the line.

Talking about the lineup, it starts with the 1.9L 4×4 Single Cab model, followed by a 3.0L 4×4 Single Cab offering. The Twin cab models in the lineup include a 1.9L 4×4 MT Standard, further followed up by a 1.9L 4×4 AT Standard, 1.9L 4×4 AT Premium, and the top of the line 3.0L 4×4 AT Premium. Interestingly, the automaker backs all its six variants with a five-year or 150,000 km warranty coverage that comes as standard for these vehicles. However, the top-spec X-Terrain gets a 7-year unlimited mileage warranty coverage. 

Talking of the most powerful 3.0L turbocharged mill, it now produces around 187 hp of power, besides churning out 450 Nm of peak torque. Lastly, the model is speculated to hit the local market, as early as the initial months of 2022.
