2021 Toyota Corolla Cross Modellista Edition is here!
If you’re one of the enthusiasts who keep a close watch on all the events ongoing in the automobile segment, you must’ve noticed that Toyota is shaking down the Thai market with its offerings. Recently, the automaker has come up with a new sporty kit for the Corolla Cross dubbed as Modellista edition. However, this sporty kit is kept exclusive to the 1.8 Hybrid Premium and 1.8 Hybrid Premium Safety trims.
If we look at it, the automaker has done a complete facial makeover of the base car, giving it a sporty treatment. The accessories in the kit come with a complete body kit, ranging from the front of the car to its rear.
The package includes side skirts, rear, and front lips. Other features of the package include unique 18-inch multi-spoke two-color wheels. in addition to 1.8 Hybrid models that are made available in different color options. It includes Platinum White Pearl, Celestite Gray Metallic, and Metal Stream Metallic.
Interestingly, the kit does not add any changes to the interior of the car as it is kept plain and simple like before. In Thailand, customers are provided with two upholstery options, namely: two-tone upholstery or regular all-black cabin, covered in Terra Rossa red-brown. The only significant difference here is that the hybrid version gets an electric sunroof.
Powering the 2021 Corolla Cross Modellista car is the 2ZR-FXE 1.8L Atkinson cycle petrol engine that churns out a total output of 98 hp, besides turning out up to 142 Nm of peak torque.
To add to the powertrain, it comes paired to an electric motor which is able to add 70 hp of power, besides including 163 Nm of peak torque to the system. The overall output is measured at a total of 120 hp.
Lastly, looking at the rates by which Toyota is penetrating the market with its offerings, we can say that the brand is planning to level up its production game.
