2021 Toyota Corolla Cross revealed

Toyota has introduced the world to its latest offering, the Corolla Cross. The brand held a global premiere of the model in Thailand and looking forward to launching it in other markets as well.

The Corolla series has been a complete chart-topper ever since its introduction in 1966. With its presence of over 50 years, the car has its impact on more than 150 markets of the world. The vehicle has been known to introduce suitable upgrades over regular intervals.

The Corolla Cross comes with a sleek but powerful stance, making a highlight for the exterior design of the car. The design feature of Corolla Cross seeks to provide its occupants with a spacious interior. The device also gets its frame based on the TNGA platform (GA-C). 

The brand’s chief engineer and in charge of development, Daizo Kameyama commented,  "Now that the Corolla Cross has newly joined the Corolla family, we sincerely hope that our customers will warmly welcome the vehicle to become part of their families: just like their partners, siblings or even friends. We wish that the Corolla Cross could assist customers in creating a new story." 

The carmaker has also introduced a torsion-beam suspension with its latest offering, resulting in a comfortable ride and improved cabin space. The car has been introduced in two variants, the gasoline, and hybrid.

The hybrid variant of the car offers a 1798-cc engine, giving out a maximum power output of 98 hp besides giving a peak torque of up to 142 Nm. The other offering houses a 1,798-cc petrol engine, producing a maximum power output of 140 hp and peak torque of 175 Nm. The gasoline and hybrid power unit is paired with CVT and e-CVT, respectively.

Coming on the inside, the car resembles striking similarities with the Corolla. The vehicle’s interior design, ranging from its dashboard to the instrument cluster, and its steering wheel resembles striking significance with the sedan. The car also offers 487 litres of luggage space.

Corolla Cross features a multi-info digital instrument cluster besides offering the users with dual-zone air conditioning with rear vents. With its nine-inch infotainment display, the car also supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.

The arrival of the 2021 Toyota Corolla Cross in the Singapore market is not yet confirmed.
