KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • What will be new on the upcoming Geely Binyue?

The upcoming Geely Binyue is likely to get cosmetic changes and a new 1.5L 4-cylinder petrol engine with a power output of 184 PS.
  • Sources have confirmed a new set of images for the upcoming vehicle that has been filed with the Chinese government. Thus, these images are of the finished product that will hit the market in the next few months.

The most obvious changes will be aimed at its exterior look from what we see. It will become aggressive-looking, especially on the rear end. There will be a full-width light bar effect, narrow tail lights, a huge roof spoiler, repositioned reflectors, a bigger diffuser element, and new character lines.

Coming to the front, there will be some changes here and there. Some bits will remain the same, like the bumper design and the X pattern grille. The latest addition will be a bigger full-face known as the Energy Storm and will add contrasting red accents and new daytime running lights.

The side profile will remain mostly unchanged. Likewise, the Binyue's wheels will stay the same with glossy black designs.

Sources also said that Geely might be adding a top-range, more powerful engine in the new Binyue specs sheet. It might be replacing the petrol TGDI 3-cylinder with a 4-cylinder 1.5L petrol engine with a power output of 184 PS. It is significantly higher than the current numbers of 177 PS with 255 Nm of torque. A 7-speed dual-clutch transmission might also accompany the vehicle. It indicates better reliability and refinement of the upcoming car.
