2022 Kia Ceed images surfaced online before the official debut

Kia’s third-generation Ceed has been around for quite some time now. Running over a period of three years, it is the time the automaker gave one of its best-sellers a nip and tuck. We can now have a look at the refreshed Kia Ceed facelift range, courtesy of leaked images.

The leaked images displayed the revamped C-segment European range available in three different appeals: the ProCeed shooting brake, regular five-door hatchback, and the Ceed Sportswagon. However, the XCeed crossover was not disclosed by any of the leaks.

Looking at the new iteration, the automaker has done quite some craft in making its upcoming offerings an obvious facelift. The most obvious change in the looks of the car is its headlights, pairing the sporty appeal of the car with a two-beam layout integrated with LED DRLs. While the headlamp cluster of the leaked images looks similar across both the models, the “tail” present on the rear of the car is what goes high up the wings.

Further, the automaker has also made some facial adjustments with the “tiger nose” grille, which is now revised to look more bolder and appealing. Interestingly, the middle notch present in the car appears to be a design of two separate trim pieces.

Moving to its rear, the car gets a restyled element there as well. The rear of the vehicle resonates with an equally appealing style with 48 honeycomb-shaped elements, complemented with smoked glass.

Moving beyond the appeal, the ProCeed GT variant makes 204 PS/265 Nm from a 1.6 T-GDi engine. The other engine on offer is the SW plug-in hybrid that combines a 1.6 GDI engine with a six-speed DCT, 44.5kW electric motor that is further paired to an 8.9 kWh Li-ion polymer battery. The PHEV setting gives out a total of 141 PS/265 Nm, with a claimed effective range of 47 km.

Lastly, with the release of the vehicle that is very soon, we’re excited to see what follows!
