2022 Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo EVO2 made an official debut

Lamborghini has introduced us to the all-new Super Trofeo EVO2 track-focussed car. The automaker calls it the most high-performance car ever to race in its one-off series. The update of this EVO was long due, ever since it was revealed back in 2017.

The new product from the Squadra Corse division received a major revamp in terms of its design features. The car receives sharper, aerodynamic-based styling for the upcoming season. The design arm Centro Stile was mainly focused on improving the car’s appeal and boosting its performance.

In terms of styling, the car sports slimmer, new, front and rear LED light clusters that comprise a hexagonal design. Also, the car pronounced its “omega” design feature to reconcile with a more alluring front spoiler lip that seamlessly joins the carbon fiber fins (making it a nod to the Huracan STO).

The new air curtain intakes and optimizes airflow along with the overall downforce of the car.

Moving to the rear of the car, it continues to dominate with its large carbon-fiber wing, tweaked with a nod to a minimalist design. Lamborghini also paid tribute to the Countach in its new design feature, giving it new frames, supported by the arched bumper that moves in seamlessly with redesigned diffuser fins.

Talking about the new racer, Lamborghini’s Head of Design Mitja Borkert revealed that the Huracan Super Trofeo EVO2 does in fact hint at the design of future models. “When we approached the Huracán Super Trofeo EVO2 project, we immediately thought of the concept of ‘Racing in style’. That is, a combination of the typical aggressiveness of the Huracán racing cars and the classic stylistic features of Lamborghini’s DNA,” he said.

“In addition, the Huracán Super Trofeo EVO2 represents a futuristic aesthetic approach that partially anticipates the design elements of the next range of road cars.”

Lastly, the customers of the existing EVO will be able to upgrade to their cars with EVO2 specs through a dedicated kit.
