2022 Mercedes-Benz EQB debuts in China

2022 Mercedes-Benz EQB debuts in China

Mercedes-Benz has officially pulled off the curtains from its latest EV offering, the EQB fully electric SUV. The EQB continues to strengthen the Mercedes EV lineup, joining the recently revealed EQS and EQA. Together, all the current offerings by the automaker are a step towards Mercedes-Benz’s electrified future.

Making its official debut at the 2021 Auto Shanghai show, the automaker has revealed the range-topping EQB 350 4Matic AMG Line, which is paired to an all-wheel-drive system. The latest offering by Mercedes ends up with the brand's requisite styling features.

The car receives a minimalist design feature that gets a black panel grille, paired to trapezoidal-shaped headlights with a continuous full-width lighting strip at the front and rear. The model is all set to feature exclusive bi- and tri-color wheels, measuring up to 20 inches.

On the power front, the EQB gives out an appealing power output of 288 hp from its battery-centered powertrain. However, the car set for the European market will come with a 66.5-kWh battery pack, with options between front- and all-wheel-drive.

Further, the aerodynamic adjustments in the car make the EQB a more efficient offering with a drag coefficient of 0.28. The aerodynamic curtailing around the EQB includes a fully closed air cooling system, aerodynamically efficient front, and rear aprons, with an almost fully covered underbody, among other modifications.

Another standout feature of the car includes its packaging. The EQB stands out at 4,684 millimeters (184.4 inches) long, giving space for almost seven people in the standard Chinese model edition. Further, we expect the automaker to pair its latest offering with the latest MBUX technology, making it a tech-laden SUV.

The new EQB will be first launched in China and then in Europe this year. It will arrive in the US in 2022.
