2022 Toyota Tundra debuts with significant updates
The year 2022 has been a year like no other for the Toyota Tundra. Following a number of leaks of the vehicle’s upcoming version, the automaker has finally revealed the all-new truck in full.
The vehicle will hit the markets later this year as a 2022 model. Looking at the upgrades that it brings, we can say that the automaker offers a significant deal with the latest generation of the Tundra.
The new version gets an updated powertrain, a new platform, and the latest in-cabin technology. The automaker’s latest update makes it one of the best offerings where the pickup hasn't cut any corners.
Revised from the frame to the roof, the 2022 Toyota Tundra pickup features conventional design features with a hybrid engine option, available for several models, mated to a new twin-turbo V6.
In terms of design, the vehicle packs aggressive looks from the front to the rear. It puts on an appealing exterior, paired with bold exterior colors.
The latest hybrid adoption of the vehicle ends Tundra’s V8 engine era. The car now packs a 3.5L twin-turbo, paired with water-cooled, dual intercoolers. The transmission option for the hybrid powertrain is a 10-speed automatic transmission, replacing the old six-speed.
In terms of output, the vehicle churns out 389 horsepower and 650 Nm of torque. When paired to the automaker’s 288V nickel-metal hydride battery, the boosted V6 churns out 437 hp, besides 790 Nm of torque.
Lastly, the vehicle features a 4.1-inch screen as a standard instrument cluster, with an optional 12.3-inch fully digital option. Other features include Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration.
