All-new 2021 Mahindra Thar resembles Jeep Wrangler

Mahindra,  the Indian multinational vehicle manufacturer has recently revealed the new Mahindra Thar. At first glance, it looks like a baby Jeep Wrangler because it features a lot of similar design cues. People might get it wrong as it looks Mahindra has ripped off Jeep but that’s not the case because the Indian brand owns the rights of the CJ Jeep Wrangler that was manufactured from 1996-2006. 

The Mahindra Thar is gaining attention as India’s version of Jeep Wrangler. The rugged vehicle flaunts an evolutionary exterior and also comes equipped with new interiors that offer a fresh and modern look to the vehicle. Among all the major offering from the Indian brand, Thar plays a vital role, thanks to its off-road capabilities and sturdy build quality. 

The new generation of Thar is based on a new platform that flaunts premium amenities, a more refined engine, and a modern look, which was missing in the previous model. As Maruti Suzuki Jimny is about to hit the Indian market, it was a great decision by Mahindra to launch the latest Thar that will surely appeal to a wider range of consumers. 

Under the hood, it comes with a 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine and a 2.0-litre mStallion TGDi petrol engine. Both the mills can be mated to either a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission or a 6-speed manual transmission. In addition to that, you also get a traditional manual shift-on-the-fly 4×4 transfer case.

It is available in six different colors, red rage, mystic copper, galaxy grey, Napoli black, rocky beige, and aquamarine. The brand has also offered new roof options as the buyers can now select from a first-in-class convertible top, hard top, and an optional soft top. Moving to the infotainment system, it flaunts a 7.0-inch drizzle resistant touchscreen infotainment system. 

Other technology features include adventure statistics display, cruise control, roof-mounted speakers, and more. Talking about the safety features, it gets ABS + EBD, ESP with rollover mitigation, dual airbags, hill descent control, hill-hold, and more. The brand has not revealed the pricing but it will soon hit the dealerships in India.
