2021 Bentley Continental GT Speed revealed

Bentley has finally revealed the latest version of the third-generation Continental GT, dubbed as Continental GT Speed. With its new offering that is more capable and performance-focused, the automaker looks forward to setting up a new benchmark, in terms of its vehicle’s performance.

Talking of the highlights of the ‘Speed’ variant of the Continental GT, the premium four-wheel-drive draws its power from a twin-turbo W12 6.0L mill that is able to churn out a maximum power output of 650 hp,  besides a whopping 900 Nm of peak torque.

While the power bump in the GT has been reduced strategically, the current generation of the car enjoys fair performance improvements. The update over the mill performance now delivers a speed of up to 100 kmph in 0.1 seconds quicker at 3.5 seconds than its previous 3.6-second record. The 2021 Bentley Continental GT gives out top speeds of up to 335 kmph.

Besides its engine, the British automaker has also worked on the different aspects of performance. It has re-tuned the software for the eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, to allow seamless shifting at almost twice the speed in Sport mode. Besides its air suspension setup that is triple-chamber and 48-volt active roll stabilization, Bentley has also re-engineered the model with new technologies like rear-wheel steering that adds to the mobility and flexibility in terms of handling.

Visually, the Continental GT ‘Speed’ keeps up with a similar body styling as its other siblings in the lineup. The car showcases a rectangular-shaped front grille, complemented with the signature dual circular LED headlamps. Interestingly, the car also adorns a dark tint on its sculpted sport sills, and radiator grille to denote the ‘Speed’ quotient.

Moving in, the GT Speed highlights a minimalist approach in its cabin, offering a dual-tone leather finish that is paired with Alcantara treatment. Buyers can also opt for a dark-tinted aluminum insert that comes optional.

Lastly, the car is said to hit the market in the fall of 2021.
