Check out the new Styling Specification of Bentley Flying Spur
In its most recent announcements, Bentley announced the addition of a Styling Specification for the Flying Spur. The optional specifications are suggested to add on to the performance of the vehicle and deliver functional aerodynamics.
The Bentley Flying Spur made its debut last year as a four-door dynamo, redesigned with performance and speed in mind. However, its current package is supposed to further emphasize the luxury sedan’s sporty styling quotient.
The Styling Specification includes a front bumper splitter, side skirts that comprise metallic Bentley badges, a rear diffuser, and a boot lid spoiler. Interestingly, all the styling components available for the new Spur are crafted in high-gloss 2×2 twill carbon fibre manufactured by hand and mirror-matched.
The new carbon fibre body kit is also said to enhance the performance of the sedan besides making it a perfect match with the advanced four-wheel drive and four-wheel drive steer chassis technology.
Innovation in the concept behind these caron fibre add-ons is that they fit seamlessly to exterior pattern and provide a high-gloss finish to the car. The Bentley badge present over the side skirt of the car is also a product of innovation as it was designed to minimize the possibility of air bubbles forming during the lacquer overcoat process.
The story behind their latest package is interesting as Bentley underwent a number of tests to get its hands on the final product. The kit has been designed over several phases ranging from a concept to looking for a virtual drag and harshness (NVH) tests.
Post the concept testing, Bentley created prototypes of the components that were further enhanced in the wind tunnel and on the track. Lastly, the final product achieved was a result of durability tests, curb tests, and water tests to ensure the quality of the carbon fibre components matched the expectations. Every individual component in the specifications pack was designed in a way so that they don't interfere with the Flying Spur’s aerodynamics or technological systems.
As of now, there is no information on the pricing of the new Styling Specification. However, for the owners of the fastest sedan in the world, it won’t be a big deal.
