Cadillac unveils the Lyriq in final production form

Cadillac unveils the Lyriq in final production form

After unveiling its first-ever Lyriq EV in concept form last year, the American automaker Cadillac finally unveils the upcoming model in a production-ready form. The car is expected to go on sale in the second half of 2022 with its bookings starting from September this year, as per the sources.

While the concept car didn’t even have side-view mirrors, the automaker’s first-ever production-ready, full-fledged EV is all about aggressive styling making it look like a piece from the future. The car is now finally in a more road-ready shape.

The transition of the car from a concept to a production-ready vehicle retains the concept EV’s sharp sense of styling. The car retains its slim headlights, strong angles, and also dawns a unique grille that is LED-lined. It won’t be wrong to say that the illuminated grille sets a major benchmark in the quality of design offered by the automaker.

The American automaker has now confirmed the spec sheet of the car. The Cadillac Lyriq will be powered by a single-motor RWD guise, a similar battery setup as the Ultium platform-based electric SUV. Further, the mill that packs a 100 kWh battery set, is suggested to give out outputs at an estimated 340 hp of EV power. The massive power output will be accompanied by an equally compelling 440 Nm of peak torque, as per official reports by Cadillac.

Moving in, the car stays virtually untouched when it comes to the interior design. The car retains a majority of its interior bits from the showcase model, ranging from a smartly designed interior space to driver-centric features.

The equipment configuration inside the car include a Super Cruise mode, allowing a hands-free driving experience, active noise cancellation, a 33-inch LED display panel with over a billion colors, LED headlamps with ‘choreographed lighting sequence’, and a 19-speaker AKG Studio sound system, among other such premium functionalities.

Lastly, the car seems to be an upgrade from what we saw in the concept. With a majority of details confirmed in the upcoming Lyriq, the car will be available for booking, ahead of its initial availability in the first half of 2022.
