DeLorean teases electrified EVolved ahead of Aug 18 debut
DeLorean has thrown at fans a teaser of the upcoming EVolved electric sports car. The EV, which gained fame from the Back To The Future trilogy, is slated to be put on display on the Concept Lawn at Pebble Beach. DeLorean is unveiling the car three days earlier than the previously scheduled unveil on August 18, 2022.
KEY TAKEAWAYS
What all features can be expected to feature in the upcoming DeLorean EV?
Elements that have been revealed by the teaser include a sculpted bonnet and an illuminated V emblem on the grille.“The Future was never promised. Reimagine today. Sign up for the premiere of the DeLorean in 2022,” the DeLorean Motor Company tweeted.
Named DeLorean EVolved, the much-anticipated EV flaunts a pair of gullwing doors and can easily be termed as a contemporary iteration of the iconic DMC-12 from the early 1980s. Moreover, the EVolved is expected to offer a truckload of luxury. Designed by Italdesign, the EV will be manufactured by the DeLorean Motor Company, which is owned by Liverpool-born engineer Stephen Wynne. Italdesign has some history with DeLorean, as Giorgetto Giugiaro, who founded the company, had designed the original DMC-12. However, Giugiaro is not in the ranks of Italdesign anymore.
Other elements that have been revealed by the teaser include a sculpted bonnet and an illuminated V emblem on the grille. Speaking of the powertrain, the EVolved is expected to be a beast as Italdesign has joined hands with Williams Advanced Engineering for developing the EVX modular platform. The EVolved may come boasting a maximum power output of up to 1,360PS, along with a maximum single-charge range of 999km.
Excitement is rising like the doors of our iconic sports car, and we are revealing the next generation prototype three days earlier than planned on the most prestigious stage at Pebble Beach,” said chief marketing officer Troy Beetz.
