Ferrari set to introduce a new sports cars on June 24
The Italian luxury automaker Ferrari has recently dropped a teaser for its upcoming sports car. Looking back at the year 2020 the automaker had been quite mum in terms of its offerings. However, the brand had a busy 2019 with the introduction of five new cars, including the SF90 Stradale, F8 Tributo, Roma, F8 Spider, and 812 GTS.
Fast forward to 2021, Ferrari has provided us with a date i.e. 24.06.2021 in the teaser. Though there’s nothing more in terms of what we should expect from the automaker or even a glimpse of the actual car, we’re all excited about the upcoming offerings because it’s a part of one of the most appealing lineups in the world.
The lack of information around the upcoming offering leaves room for a lot of speculation, ranging from the looks, designs, to the mill of the offerings as well. However, looking at the most recent sightings of a prototype that have surfaced on the internet, there could be a hint of what the upcoming offering might look like.
Reports around the upcoming offerings suggest that it is internally codenamed as the “F171.” To add more to the upcoming car, the looks of the heavily camouflaged prototype around Maranello suggest that the upcoming car adapts to the looks of an entry-level sports car.
Talking of the teaser that we see on the internet, the video features Ferrari Driver Academy’s Esports Driver, David Tonizza, moving around in a simulated lap, driving a Mugello.
While there’s no clarity on the powertrain of the car, we’re expecting it to be powered by a twin-turbo V6 hybrid mill that might raise the performance bar to compete with Porsche and McLaren.
Lastly, talking about Ferrari’s plans, the Modena-based carmaker had previously committed to releasing fifteen new models within the next five years. Out of those, we’ve already seen five cars, which means ten new products remain!
