Geely Emgrand L facelift now on sale in China
Geely finally launched the Emgrand L in its home market, China. The new model is a facelifted version of the original Emgrand GL that was launched 6 years ago. This new model lies somewhere in the middle of Geely’s sedan lineup and we are eager to see what it has to offer.
The facelift is based on Geely’s new Energy Storm design language. It involves a massive new mesh-filled grille that has replaced the patent waterfall grille design from 2020. This grille along with the new front bumper contours gives the Emgrand L its signature X-shaped look.
Another noticeable difference is the LED lights, they are slimmer and teamed up with daytime running light dashes on the upper end. The sides of the vehicle remain unchanged keeping the prominent front fender.
The interior too has been given an impressive makeover with door cards and a new dashboard. It will also receive a tall center console with soft knee pads, piano-like toggle switches, laser-engraved dashboard trim, a freestanding center touchscreen, and a full-sized air vent design.
The new Emgrand L gets a new B-segment Modular Architecture from Geely, however, there will be no new engine. The vehicle is powered by the same old turbocharged 1.4L engine with a power output of 141 PS and maximum torque of 235 Nm. It is paired with a CVT as a standard bypassing the customary manual option.
There will be a whole new range of safety features on the Emgrand L. this includes stability control, six airbags, automatic high beam, traffic sign recognition, lane-keeping assist, Level 2 semi-autonomous driving capabilities, and autonomous emergency braking with cyclist and pedestrian detection.
Lastly, there is no news of the Geely Emgrand L being available in the Singapore market. Right now, only the Geely Emgrand EC7 GL is available here.
