Genesis just made its G70 Shooting Brake official
The Genesis G70 Shooting Brake is finally official now. The automaker revealed the first official look of its latest offering via a few photos. Named as the “Shooting Brake”, this G70 variant comes with appealing dynamics, paired with four doors. Previously, the car got a noteworthy facelift last year.
The G70 Shooting Brake is one of the most significant offerings for the brand as it is expected to be the one to increase the automaker’s traction in the European markets. Considering that the European markets still have an affinity for wagons, Genesis sees that Shooting Brake might be their chance to compete with the rivals like the Mercedes-Benz C-Class Estate, Audi A4 Avant, and BMW 3 Series Touring.
The car is developed on a revised design of the G70 sedan, taking the exterior looks of a wagon. The exterior styling boasts a Genesis grille and other signature appointments, making it instantly recognizable across the front and the rear.
When compared to the looks of the sedan, the Shooting Brake stands at the exact same dimension as the other G70, keeping it at 184.4 inches in length. The automaker has kept up with decisive design technology, trying to maintain a style that would appeal to European customers.
Looking at the exterior appeal of the car, we can say that the Shooting Brake features an increased interior space, at least 15 cubic feet, behind the second row. While there are no final specs around the car, we are expecting a folding second row that would allow it to open up.
Talking of the powertrain details of the European-spec G70, it might carry over the 2.0L turbo four-cylinder and the 3.3L twin-turbo V6. Furthermore, the European market is more likely get a diesel option to the mix, and maybe even a manual transmission.
Lastly, the current offering by Genesis is engineered keeping the European customers in mind. It is expected to hit the European markets, in the second half of this year.
