Genesis unveils technical specs of its first-ever electric SUV, the GV60
The South Korean automaker Genesis has confirmed the technical specifications of its forthcoming GV60 electric SUV, which will be sharing the same E-GMP architecture with the Kia EV6 and Hyundai Ioniq.
However, unlike the latter, the GV60 will feature a more effective battery pack option. The premium EV SUV will rival vehicles like the BMW iX3, Volkswagen ID.5, and Jaguar I-Pace.
Talking about the vehicle's design, it flaunts a futuristic design that includes an upturned black bumper, stacked headlights, and a broad black grille. One key feature to notice is that it misses out on conventional door mirrors as they are replaced with rear-facing cameras. The latter can be found on the Audi e-tron as well. The alloy wheels are pretty attractive, and that undoubtedly stands out.
To make the EV look slick, the manufacturer has also offered flush-fitting door handles. Getting inside the car, you will get a modern touch, and the presence of a two-spoke steering wheel provides a premium feel to the cabin.
When it comes to the infotainment system, it flaunts two wide digital screens that offer a plethora of information and also takes care of the entertainment features.
Moving to the technical specifications, it comes equipped with a 77.4kWh battery. The maximum output of 228 hp can be generated from a single electric motor that has been offered in the RWD trims. The latter claims to return a maximum range of 280 miles.
However, if you are looking for better performance, then the brand has a dual-motor variant, which can churn out a maximum output of 318 hp, and the range offered is 249 miles. Apart from this, another Performance model is also present that can generate a massive 435 hp and return 229 miles of total range.
The latter flaunts a boost mode, which can aid the vehicle in hitting 0-60 mph sprint in merely four seconds. Talking about the charging time, the vehicle can be charged from 10% to 80% with the help of a rapid 350 kW charger in just 18 mins.
At the rear, the suspension duties are handled by a five-multi-link setup, and at the front, McPherson struts are provided. The brand has offered loads of driver assist systems that include lane-keeping assist, forward collision-avoidance assist, safe exit assist, driver attention warning, intelligent speed limit assist, smart cruise control, lane following assist, parking distance warnings, and more.
The Genesis GV60 electric SUV also has two unique features - a fingerprint authentication system and Face Connect. Along with that, the brand has also offered fake powertrain sounds that match the conventional motor sounds. The pricing details are not yet revealed and can be expected to be declared soon.
