GMC Hummer EV SUV gathers spotlight ahead of reveal next week
GMC continues to tease its upcoming Hummer EV SUV in its new countdown teaser, ahead of its official reveal next week. The new teaser gives us a fresh look at the most detailed silhouette of the upcoming electric-mammoth that is focused to be a more family-friendly car.
Talking about the design feature of the upcoming offering (judging by its teaser), the GMC Hummer EV SUV will carry identical looks to the pick-up truck. Further, we can also say that the car might share a similar full-width LED light bar beside its flared wheel arches.
However, the only difference that we expect from the final offering will be its ride-height and a new tailgate that will be accompanied by a spare wheel mount. The Hummer SUV is based on GMC's new flexible architecture, thus its size lies between traditional and extended wheelbase, just like the 2021 GMC Yukon. However, the dimensional approach of the car makes it a foot longer than Hummer H2, and a few inches taller than Ford F-150 Raptor.
Talking about the other highlights that we can notice from the teaser video, the overall profile of the car gives us a clear look at the vehicle’s shark fin antenna, a full-size spare tire that it carries to its rear, and a tiny spoiler that adds to the overall look of the upcoming offering. However, being a teaser, we can expect some tweaking in the styling of the car when it finally comes out on April 3, 2021.
Moving inside, we expect the SUV’s cabin to carry similar looks as the pick-up, sharing a similarly styled cabin with rich leather upholstery and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. While the upcoming EV might also retain the 13.4-inch infotainment system, the upcoming specifications are yet to be mentioned.
Lastly, the Hummer EV SUV is expected to come with three electric motors, giving out a combined output of 1,000 hp and 15,592 Nm of peak torque.
