GWM to launch its Haval H6 and Jolion on the global platform
Chinese automaker Great Wall Motors had recently unveiled its 2021 Haval H6 SUV at the Bangkok International Motor Show in Thailand. Following the successful debut event, the Chinese automaker announced that it will be offering the H6 and the Jolion SUVs on a global scale.
Based on the GWM LEMON platform, the Haval H6 enjoys the tag of ‘best selling SUV in the Republic country. With platforms like L.E.M.O.N, COFIS, and TANK under its forte, the automaker looks forward to set a trend in global mobility technology.
At the event of its launch, GWM vice president Sam Liu commented: “GWM has launched three future-oriented global technology brands, and has the confidence in dealing with the transformation of the automobile industry.”
Further, the vice president also mentioned that their Haval H6 and Jolion will be made available to selective markets, within the second quarter of the year.
Design-wise, both the offerings share a similarity in terms of its muscular bonnet, sloping roofline, a wide air dam, sleek LED headlights, and a large grille with a chromed mesh.
Talking of the LEMON platform used in both the SUVs, the architecture can be used to scale models across multiple segments of the GMC forte, including SUV, sedan, and MPV. The uniqueness of the platform is that it can be used to easily develop sizes from A- to D-segment.
Other benefits of the LEMON platform include improved steering accuracy by 16%, better lateral stiffness at around 15%, and improved center of gravity, courtesy of the platform. Thanks to the lightweight application, the platform has allowed improved fuel economy by up to 14.5%.
Lastly, similar to the H6, Jolion also shares the Level 2 semi-autonomous driving feature, thanks to the automaker's LEMON platform.
