Italdesign teases an upcoming sports car based on the DeLorean DMC-12
Back in the days when the DeLorean DMC-12 first made its appearance in the early 1980s, the stainless steel bodywork was a sight to behold. 40 years down the line, the car still turns a lot of heads, and there has never been something like this again. However, according to a teaser image posted on the official Facebook page of Italdesign, it is said that the designing firm is working on something very interesting and unique.
What’s more interesting about this surprising teaser is that the silhouette carries a DMC logo and gullwing doors. Along with this, there was another picture of the first production model of the 1981 DeLorean DMC-12. Now, any automobile enthusiast will be able to draw relevance with the post, even without reading the caption.
Looking at the silhouette of the car, it is quite confusing to tell whether it is from the front angle or the rear. However, with the DMC badge right in front, it is safe to assume that it is the front section of the car. The gullwing doors, on the other hand, appear to be designed differently, and we can assume that Italdesign has played with the aesthetic as it does not want to put too much information for the public yet.
The post from Italdesign tagged DeLorean Motor Company and also had a short caption, which reads as “What a better way to celebrate an icon of automotive history than a sneak peek at the (near) future? Stay tuned for more.”
Though this caption does not give out a lot of information, it does silently hint at the fact that we will see a reincarnation of the iconic car in the near future. However, one can only expect the “(near) future” to come very soon. Stay tuned to this place for all the upcoming updates on this project.
