KEY TAKEAWAYS
When will Jeep's first electric vehicle go on sale?
Jeep's first pure electric vehicle will go on sale in 2023, as per Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares. We already know that the upcoming Jeep EV is part of the several EVs coming up in the next few years. All the vehicles are a part of Stellantis’ Dare Forward 2030 strategy to raise its sales in Europe by 100%. They also have another target of introducing 75 new BEVs, to raise their Unites States sales by 50% in case of BEVs. For now, let’s look at what the first EV of this lineup looks like.
The new vehicle is expected to be based on Stellantis’ STLA platform. As for the exterior design pattern, the new vehicle will retain the signature compact yet bulky look with the traditional seven-slot grille. The grille will also separate the primary headlamps from the upper running light strips.
The upcoming EV will receive a two-tone paint job and huge fender lines. The rear doors will also have their handles included inside the C-pillars. The lower section of the vehicle will receive the last cladding - right from the front to the back. There is also an “e” badging on the vehicle denoting its electric engine. However, there is still no news on the details of the vehicle’s powertrain.
The bumper will be equipped with a faux silver skid plate, fog lamps, and two intakes on the rear end. The black bumper will become a beautiful contrast to the silver skid plate and be equipped with the ‘X’ lighting tail lights. These types of tail lights are already available in some current Jeep models.
That’s all we know for now. Stay tuned for more updates!
