Jeep’s upcoming 7-seater SUV might be called ‘Commander’

Among all the new models that are lined up for the current year, Jeep is all set to launch a new three-row SUV. Expected to be based on the Compass, the automaker will be adding a seven-seater version of the SUV to its lineup.

To be manufactured in India and Brazil, this new Jeep SUV codenamed the H6, will be longer and larger than the Compass. Previously, the automaker’s upcoming offering was supposed to be called ‘Patriot’. Expected to be placed above the Compass in Jeep’s lineup. Interestingly, this premium SUV has already been spied on a quick run in Brazil as well as Italy over the last few months.

Jeep’s upcoming 7-seater SUV

While there has been no confirmation on the name of the mode, a recently surfaced teaser highlights the possibilities of the 7-seater SUV to be called ‘Commander’ as it previews two letters of the name, which are ‘E’ and ‘R’.

Moreover, the recently surfaced teaser video has also given us a glimpse of the exteriors of Jeep’s upcoming SUV’s design. The front-end of the car looks linearly curved, making it rounder than the average Compass. Further, its grille is more redefined and the headlights of the ‘Commander’ also look revamped.

Beyond the looks, there’s another notable highlight in the car. The reports around this SUV that mentioned it to be a 7-seater project, now look like more than a Compass that gets 2 additional seats.

While a majority of the car’s design and its features are either suggestions or rumors, there’s one thing that Jeep has officially confirmed. Yes, it’s the powertrain of the car. The upcoming Jeep SUV will be available in two engine options, notably a 1.3L turbo and a 2.0L turbo-diesel engine, adding more power than the previous models.

Lastly, Jeep has also confirmed that its upcoming SUV will be one of the most modern models produced in Brazil. Whatever the hype be, we can’t wait for Jeep to clear the confusion as we move forward with its launch.
