Koenigsegg’s new hypercar teaser indicates a soon launch

As we set foot into 2022, Koenigsegg sent us a little gift on their Instagram page - a sneaky new teaser that might just indicate an upcoming launch. Let’s check out what this teaser has to say.

The teaser included a silhouette monochrome photo that doesn’t reveal much. But, we were able to identify it as a new model. The caption to the teaser announced Koenigsegg’s “New Year’s resolution - the ultimate performance with optimal design and clever engineering.”

Experts tried running the image in Photoshop but with little luck. However, we were able to make out some familiar design cues from the silhouette. We spotted the famous teardrop-shaped cabin, a wrap-around windshield, a CCR-like front diffuser, an Agera-inspired rear diffuser, and the CCX-inspired tail lights.

Based on our speculations, this upcoming hypercar might just be the ultimate, most capable, and fastest vehicle by the Swedish brand. They already have some of the fastest cars in the world under their hood - the Agera RS with its 447.07 kmph speed which is even more than Bugatti Veyron Super Sport’s 427.2 kmph record! Naturally, we have high hopes that the new model will break all previous records too.

We have not received any news on the upcoming model’s specifications yet. Will it bring new automotive engineering techniques? Will its design be based on its predecessors? Will it be an EV? There are so many questions we still need answers to.

We are also speculating whether the new hypercar will be as exclusive as its predecessors. For example, the Agera RS was super exclusive and just 25 units of the supercar have been produced to date. Thus, we expect quite a hefty price tag too.

Koenigsegg also delivered their first CC8S 20 years ago and this new hypercar might be a subtle homage to the first iconic vehicle. However, it is all speculation now but we hope to know more soon. Till then, stay tuned!
