Lego Technic McLaren Senna GTR unveiled
Lego technic series has introduced various new models which are based on real-life cars and now they have revealed another one, the McLaren Senna GTR. The model is one of the first McLaren supercars that has been transformed into a Lego Technic form. Moreover, it has been created with the help of 830 pieces. The British carmaker said, “Like every full-scale McLaren Senna GTR, its Lego replica is designed to be built by hand.”
When the vehicle is completely assembled then it will measure 32 cm in length and will also come with a V8 that has moving pistons. In addition to that, it will have a bold blue livery and dihedral doors. It is truly a faithful creation and deserves to be a good item to put on display.
The design director at McLaren Automotive, Robert Melville said, “Just like the real thing, the Lego model is packed full of incredible details from the rear spoiler to the moving pistons in the V8 engine to the dihedral doors meaning that we’re as proud of the model as we are of the real car.”
When we compare this to other lego technic sets such as Lamborghini Sián FKP 37 and Bugatti Chiron, the number of pieces utilized is approximately a quarter of those cars, and almost half of that used on Ferrari 488 GTE. If we talk about the full-size Senna GTR, which is the race version of the original Senna, has almost double the performance along with a way more aggressive aero that can effortlessly generate around 1,000 kg of downforce.
In addition to that, it comes equipped with a more powerful 4,0 liter V8 twin-turbo, which is capable of churning out a maximum power of 814 hp. Its production is limited to 75 units.
Expected to be available from January 1, 2021, the McLaren Senna GTR Lego set will be priced at USD 49.99 (SGD 66.88).
