Maserati teases Ghibli Trofeo and Quattroporte Trofeo ahead of global debut

Moving a step ahead into delivering high-performance vehicles, Maserati has teased its upcoming lineup with the release of the first teaser image of its Ghibli Trofeo and Quattroporte Trofeo. The Trofeo lineup is set to be unveiled on August 10th.

Previously, Maserati introduced the world to the Levante Trofeo version of its successful car. The vehicle was powered by a 3.8 litre twin-turbo V8 engine, giving outputs at 590 hp and 730 Nm of peak torque. The Levante Trofeo set the foundation for Maserati’s performance-oriented SUV’s.

The teaser image of the upcoming vehicles suggests an aggressive design language, providing the car with a special edge in performance. The new Trofeo variants might be covered in a similar piano-black grille as the Levante Trofeo.

Moreover, the styling of the vehicle is also expected to be inspired by sporty air intakes with honeycomb mesh inserts. The other suggested highlights of the new Trofeo lineup might be seen with massive wheels, carbon fibre accents and a four-tailpipe sports exhaust system.

While Maserati didn’t reveal much about the powertrain of the upcoming lineup, the news is that the company is discontinuing the Ferrari made V8’s. The future models by Maserati are expected to be featuring Maserati’s new twin-turbo 3.0-litre V6 dubbed the ‘Nettuno’.

The new ‘Nettuno’ engine might be seen effective in the MC20 sports car, providing power outputs of 621 hp and 730 Nm of peak torque. When paired with the upcoming Levante and Quattroporte Trofeo, it can be expected to bear outputs of 523 hp of power besides churning out 572 hp in the Quattroporte.
