Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV interior unveiled ahead of April debut

Mercedes-Benz has given us a first look at the interior of the electric EQS SUV ahead of its global reveal on April 19, 2022. The interior of the EQS SUV, which seats up to seven people, is very similar to that of the flagship Mercedes-Benz EQS liftback, as well as the EQE sedan. It includes the optional MBUX Hyperscreen, a curved-glass screen that spans the entire A-pillar.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • What are the key highlights of the Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV interior?

Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV will feature a curved MBUX Hyperscreen (comprising a 17.7-inch infotainment unit, a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel, and a 12.3-inch passenger touchscreen). The luxury EV will also be equipped with two 11.6-inch rear displays, an MBUX rear tablet, and a wireless phone charger.
  • This system has a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 17.7-inch central touchscreen, and a 12.3-inch passenger touchscreen. The MBUX Hyperscreen incorporates air-conditioning vents above it and a "seemingly free-floating centre console" below. The EQS SUV interior shown in the press images also includes dual 11.6-inch screens on the backrests of the front seats and a folding armrest with a wireless phone charger and an MBUX rear tablet.

There is no word yet on what amenities the passengers in the third row will get, but we don't see any plush headrests like in most other models. The German automaker has confirmed the EQS and EQE SUVs will be built in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, alongside the GLS and GLE, and use batteries produced in a "state-of-the-art factory in Bibb County."

    Mercedes-Benz EQS

Taking care of the power department is expected to be a single rear motor capable of churning out 292 PS of maximum power on the EQS 350 or 333 PS on the EQS 450+. We should also see the twin-motor motor setup that produces 523 PS on the EQS 580 4Matic.

    Mercedes-Benz EQS

The battery options should also remain the same, a 90.56-kWh setup offering a range of around 638 km on the EQS 350 and a 107.8-kWh battery with up to 782 km of range on the EQS 450+ and 679 km on the EQS 580. Another model that is expected is the AMG EQS 53 4Matic+, which should feature a maximum power of 658 PS and a range of up to 586 km.

For further details on the Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV, we have to wait for its imminent debut.
