Mitsubishi to unveil the Ralliart concept at the Tokyo Auto Salon 2022

Mitsubishi plans to preview the new Vision Ralliart concept car at the Tokyo Auto Salon 2022. However, whether it will emerge as a true performance car or merely focus on graphic enhancements is yet to be ascertained.

A lone teaser shot reveals the concept's rear bumper, comprising a bold carbon-fiber diffuser with a central light inspired by the Formula One and the Ralliart brand's ten-stripe logo.

No other details were ratified with the teaser. However, the brand claims that the Ralliart concept car brings together Mitsubishi Motors' engineering and vigor for Monozukuri craftsmanship and defines the company's notion for the new Ralliart.

While the brand is timid on attributes, Mitsubishi enthusiasts will cite resemblances between the tailgate layout and rear quarter panels illustrated right above the Ralliart concept's diffuser and the new-gen Outlander medium SUV.

Also, the diffuser misses an outlet for an exhaust opening, indicating that an electric-heavy plug-in hybrid system could more likely power it or there will be an all-electric powertrain.

Though it is not confirmed, these hints lend the entire weight to the rumors smoked earlier this year of a high-performance Outlander Evolution performance SUV being in evolution, hauled with a multi-motor plug-in hybrid system.

As briefed, the Mitsubishi Ralliart concept car will be unveiled at the approaching Tokyo Auto Salon, set to unlock its doors to the media on 14 January 2022, prior to its outset to the masses on 15 and 16 January.

Though the initial file name of the first teaser shot suggested the concept would be known as the 'Vision Ralliart Concept,' an official name is yet to be ratified. Regardless, the car is set to be accompanied on stage by a Kei EV concept, a second show car previewing a micro electric car slated for liftoff in Japan in mid-2022, as a twin to a prototype version of Nissan's IMk concept.
