New Kia Sportage Hybrid introduced with a range of 500 miles

Kia revealed its new Sportage SUV last month in the United States and now it is back with another variant of the same model. The new Sportage will sport a more powerful hybrid powertrain which promises a range of 500 miles with one tank fill-up. This new variant will grace the markets sometime in 2023 and till then let’s see what we can expect from its launch.

The upcoming Kia Sportage Hybrid will sport a 1.6L turbocharged engine along with a lithium-ion 1.5-kWh battery and a 44-kilowatt electric motor. Kia promises the new hybrid engine will move up from the previous power output of 138 kW to 166 kW. It even promises better fuel economy at 39 miles per gallon. The Hybrid powertrain will be accompanied by the same six-speed automatic transmission with either all-wheel or front-wheel drive options. 

Now coming to the design aspect, we don’t think there will be many differences from the present model but we are still awaiting news on that front. For now, it has been revealed that the cabin of the upcoming Hybrid will come with the same features as the standard model. These include a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, 12,3-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Audio and Apple CarPlay, a Harman-Kardon audio system, and a wireless phone charging slot.

The Sportage Hybrid will sport a range of safety features including lane-keep assist, high-beam assist, automatic emergency braking, and others. It will also come with 8 active safety features including a new Hybrid special 360-degree camera complete with a 3D view, blind-spot monitoring, Highway Drive-Assist, smart cruise control, and much more. 

The upcoming Kia Sportage Hybrid will arrive in 2023. Pricing details are yet to be revealed.
