Redesigned Genesis G90 debuts with longer wheelbase and better comfort

Hyundai’s luxury brand, Genesis released a gorgeous sedan a couple of years back, the G90, with premium looks at an affordable rate. And now, the South Korean automaker gave its beloved luxury sedan a facelift that makes it bigger and better. Let’s take a look at what this new version has to offer.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • What’s new on the 2022 Genesis G90 facelift?

The 2022 Genesis G90 facelift gets exterior cosmetic tweaks and a longer wheelbase while details on the interior and mechanical specs have not been revealed yet.
  • The new model is more dramatic with a longer wheelbase. It sports a long hood with a short overhang while the trunk lid design is inspired by the G80, inheriting its signature ducktail look.

The sides of the upcoming sedan have been left bare to accentuate its smooth surface with just a couple of crisp lines. The flush door handles look attractive leveling up its minimalistic yet elegant look. A chrome trim band will be bordering the G90’s lower bumpers and side sills and along with the striking rear haunches, makes the sedan athletic.

In terms of interior design, the upcoming G90 is set to be longer than its predecessor with promises of better comfort. Leaked photos have also let us know that the touchscreen will not be responsible for climate controls anymore - separate buttons will be provided for monitoring the HVAC system.

Coming to the wheelbase, the photos of the G90 shows that there might be two variants - one with the wheelbase of the original G90 while the other variant will receive a longer wheelbase at 190 mm sufficiently increasing the legroom.

Lastly, the Genesis G90 will not be available in the European markets but instead, they will receive the stunning G70 wagon. No further details regarding price or technical specifications have been yet revealed by the luxury brand but from what we hear, it might just become a worthy competitor to the Maybach S-Class. So stay tuned for more updates!
