The Alpine Finally Gives The A110 An Update To Hold It Just A Little Longer

The French carmaker, Alpine, has consistently stated its plan to convert its venture into an EV company. And before withdrawing the internal combustion engine, the Alpine finally gives the A110 an update to hold it just a little longer.

To begin with, all available trims are receiving new names except the A110 S. The previous base A110 Pure is now renamed as A110. It comes hauled with a 1.8-liter turbocharged engine borrowed from Renault Megane RS rated at 252 PS (248 hp) at 6,000 rpm and 320 Nm of torque from 2,000-4,800 rpm, identical to the previously available base version.

Following is the former Legende, which has been renamed the GT. Both GT and A110 S underwent a few tweaks showcasing the pep with its 1.8-liter turbo engine producing 300 PS (296 hp) and 340 Nm, which is 8 PS and 20 Nm more than earlier. At the same time, the seven-speed dual-clutch transmission remains the same for all available variants.

The carmaker stated that the base and GT variants could hit a top speed of 250 km/h, with the former taking 4.5 seconds and the latter taking 4.2 seconds to cross the century dash. While the flagship S variant takes the same time as GT, its top speed is 260 km/h, pinging up to 275 km/h with the optional Aero Kit (carbon-fiber rear spoiler, front blade, more extended front fairings).

The flagship model also gets an enhanced sports-tuned chassis, a sports exhaust system, and suspension for better handling, while it receives the same but a bit wider alloy wheels as the GT model and shares the Brembo braking system as well. In contrast, the base variant receives 17-inches and 296 mm brake discs instead.

Standard updates over the board comprise a new infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, while the touchscreen display remains the same at seven inches.

However, the French carmakers also stated that the system could be updated in the future as per need via an over-the-air update to support Wi-Fi connectivity. Besides this, the A110’s retro-inspired styling remains pretty much intact.'
