Toyota Land Cruiser 300 launched in Japan
The Toyota Land Cruiser 300 is one such car that has made quite a stir in the automobile world, even before it went on sale. The automaker had been in the news for its offering as it had set up a technical clause for its sales.
And, now that its buyers have finally agreed with the 12 months resale terms, the car is finally up for sale in Japan. Interestingly, the automaker has come up with a total of five variants and two engine choices for its 300 series.
In terms of the greatest update in the car, the new Land Cruiser 300 gets a revamped structure as it now rides on a new ladder-frame version (GA-F) of the Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA). The USP of the new structure revolves around new welding techniques.
Comparatively, all the additions on the car make it 20% stiffer, adding to its refinement, collision safety, and ride quality.
Talking about the powertrain options which the automaker has come up with, the new Land Cruiser 300 underpins twin-turbocharged V6 engine, replacing the old V8. The V35A-FTS 3.4L petrol mill is carried over from the Lexus LS 500. The revised powertrain provides the car with 415 hp of power, besides giving out 650 Nm of peak torque.
The other option on offer is an F33A-FTV 3.3L diesel engine that has been fine tuned to optimize intake ports, combustion chambers, and injectors. The diesel variant puts out 309 hp of power, besides giving out a whopping 700 Nm of torque.
Inside, the new Land Cruiser features a redesigned cabin space featuring a futuristic design approach with a freestanding center touchscreen, curved center console, analog gauges, and transmission tunnel that’s noticeably tall. Looking at the overall appeal of the interiors, we can say that it has been designed, keeping off-roading in mind.
Lastly, looking at the sixth generation of the luxury-oriented “wagon”, the 300 Series is all set to revolutionize the offerings of Toyota as a brand.
