Toyota took the lead in the race of most searched car brands

According to a study conducted by Compare the Market, Toyota was the most searched car brand with around 34.8% among all countries analyzed in 2020. Earlier in 2019, it had been down to 17.7% of the top searches among the analyzed countries. This brand is among those top brands that have gained a lot of popularity in recent years. 

The reason behind such a spike in sales and popularity of Toyota was its release of a new and unique range of vehicles. Toyota had recently inaugurated its new C+pod electric two-seater vehicle along with some notable releases throughout the year. 

Toyota had been ruling the search list as it firmly held its position among the top in the most searched car brands 2020. But as a whole, BMW has proven its durability and came out to be the most searched car brand for three consistent years. The examination of BMW for 38.3% of the top surveys in that whole period in comparison to that of Toyota which was 31.3%. 

Meanwhile, BMW had been surpassed by Toyota by the end of 2019 but was still popular and stood in the second position among the most searched car brands in 2020. Based on the recent analysis report of Singapore, it topped searches in a total of 34 countries worldwide. The position of BMW in the market of Singapore was still in the second position with Toyota above it. 

The Local Brands were offered a lot of support globally by the people as some countries continued their search for the brands which were manufactured locally. The Swedish company Volvo had also topped the list of searches in Sweden and the same was the case with Japan where Toyota gained popularity. BMW also dominated the search list receiving support from people in Germany, and Peugeot received clicks in France. 

All of these data were compiled and based upon the Google Trends data which depicted the most searched vehicle brands between 2018 to 2020. Some of the data were eliminated because certain countries limited their data and some didn't disclose anything so those brands had to be removed from the list of top searched car brands.
