2022 Honda Civic sedan makes a full debut

After months of back and forth with the leak images and much-discussed features, the 2022 Honda Civic sedan has finally made its debut, adding a completely new design feature to its lineup. Touted to be the most fun to drive sedan over the automaker’s rich history of 50 years of production, the 11th-generation C-segment sedan.

Talking about the offering, the 2022 Honda Civic provides the users with a look of a clean sedan that boasts a modern design. The car resonates with a styling that looks both sporty and premium at the same time.

Paired with high-tech, occupants-centered active, and passive safety systems, the car was previously showcased in its prototype form in November 2020. Overall, the 11th-generation of the Honda Civic brings to the table evolution of design, innovation, improved driving dynamics, and design leadership, among others.

The exterior design of the Honda sedan can see to draw clear inspiration from the Honda Accord. Thanks to the upgraded design language, the Civic sedan now gets revised dimensions, making it 33 mm (1.3 inches) longer than before at 4,674 mm (184 inches). The car now stands at an elevated height of 2.736 inches, making it 36 mm (1.4 inches) higher. The width (1,801 mm or 70.9 inches) and height (1,415 mm or 55.7 inches) remain unchanged from the tenth-generation FC Civic.

Under the hood, the Honda Civic sedan gets a 2.0-litre naturally-aspirated four-cylinder DOHC i-VTEC petrol engine, churning up to 158hp of power, besides giving out an impressive 187Nm of torque.

Similar to the exterior of the car, the Honda Civic’s new interior is also a worthy upgrade. The centrepiece of the smartly designed cabin is the honeycomb mesh, expanding across the spans of the dashboard. The upgrade in its design feature was made to conceal the air vents, adding to its minimalist look.

Lastly, the car is hinted to move to dealers by fall, 2021.
