Honda City Hatchback launched in Malaysia
Honda has just launched the all-new City Hatchback in Malaysia. The shortened version of the CIty sedan is on offer in four variants - 1.5 S, 1.5 E, 1.5 V, and e:HEV RS hybrid, the deliveries of the latter will start next year. The price starts at RM 75,670 (SGD 24,454).

The Honda City Hatchback RS trim is powered by an e:HEV hybrid system that combines a 1.5-litre four-cyl engine with an electric motor.Speaking about the design highlights, the front fascia of the City Hatchback looks similar to the sedan with the same RS honeycomb grille and headlights. However, on the shortened rear end, we can notice different tail lights and a unique bumper mated with a black insert. The RS e:HEV and V trims feature LED Headlights with LED daytime running lights, LED front fog lights, LED rear combination lights, and are also fitted with 16-inch alloy wheels (15-inch units as standard).
The interior of the City Hatchback also looks identical to the sedan with the same dash layout, and three-spoke steering. Depending on the variant, the car features a seven-inch instrument panel, an eight-inch infotainment display, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto connectivity, keyless entry, remote engine start, ULTRA seats, auto air-conditioning, fabric/leather upholstery, paddle shifters, cruise control, and more.
Under the hood, the three petrol trims are equipped with a 1.5 litre DOHC i-VTEC four-cylinder engine that kicks out a maximum power of 121 PS at 6,600 rpm and a peak torque of 145 Nm of torque at 4,300 rpm. It is coupled with a CVT gearbox. The hybrid variant, on the other hand, is powered by a combination of a 98 PS/127 Nm 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine and an electric motor delivering 109 PS/253 Nm.
Touted as safe for everyone, the City hatchback offers the most complete pack of next-gen advanced safety tech, which is first in its segment. The Honda SENSING pack comes with RS e:HEV and comprises the following bits -

- Collision Mitigation Braking System
- Forward Collision Warning
- Lane Keep Assist System
- Road Departure Mitigation
- Lane Departure Warning
- Auto High Beam
Standard safety features include four airbags and stability control, while with the V trim, you also get a Honda LaneWatch camera and six airbags in total.
