Maxus revealed the MIFA concept as an all-electric MPV
Maxus, one of the leading subsidiaries of Chinese vehicle maker SAIC Motor, recently unveiled one of its latest electric MPV concepts.
The new concept car, first showcased at this year’s Auto Shanghai event, presented the visitors with an idea of the automaker’s new modular platform dubbed Maxus Intelligent Flexible Architecture (MIFA).
Per the Chinese automaker, the MIFA concept is a combination of a “space capsule” with “oriental charm,” presenting never-before-seen design feature.
Talking of the design feature, it gives a modern yet futuristic appeal. The car presents the idea of a blocky exterior that tries to maximize the space in its interiors. The appealing features of the exterior make the car stand out with its wide-width light bar that is placed below the Maxus script at the front.
The main headlamps of the car are tucked into dugouts at the corner end of the bumpers. The wide exterior of the car presents the users with a three-element lighting cluster that sports a geometric pattern. Moving down, Maxus introduces a two-tone paint job that adds to the overall appeal of the concept car and to the bold appeal of the Z-shaped design.
Moving inside, the interior of the concept vehicle is futuristic as well — with a dashboard that is dominated by a curved screen. Blade-like door handles and aerodynamic steering make the car look more appealing.
The automaker also keeps note of the rear and makes it appealing for rear passengers as well. The car presents an upswept panel that is placed between the rear seat and houses controls for climate control, seat adjustment, and media playback.
As this is still a show car, Maxus is expected to make revisions to the production version when it hits the market. Reports suggest that it will move into production later in November, with sales set to begin in 2022.
