Maxus e Deliver 3 Review 2024
Abhishek Katariya says
The Maxus e Deliver 3 is the Chinese carmaker SAIC’s most affordable electric commercial vehicle available in the Singapore car market. This commercial van is designed and engineered with the intent of reducing running costs while ferrying goods from one point to another with its efficient electric powertrain. The Singapore car market gets the Maxus e Deliver 3 in a single variant with the 52.5 kWh battery pack and a single shade of white.

Maxus e Deliver 3 Interior & Features
For a commercial van, the cabin of the Maxus e Deliver 3 looks pleasant, as there are a couple of design elements and features, which give it a car-like appeal on the inside. The cabin has dual-tone black and beige upholstery, with piano black inserts at some places uplifting the ambience of the vehicle.
The driver’s cockpit, with a three-spoke multi-functional steering wheel and a simple-looking instrument console behind it, looks great for a commercial vehicle. The instrument console as well as the centre console of the dashboard get generous piano black surrounds. The centre console is divided into two parts, with the upper part getting a touchscreen infotainment system and the lower part having asymmetric buttons for manual AC. The co-passenger side of the dashboard has an open glove box, which is smaller than one can think of it.
Apart from the features mentioned above, the Maxus e Deliver 3 also gets a height-adjustable driver’s seat, heated front seats, leather finish for the steering wheel, power windows, electrically adjustable outside rearview mirrors and tilt and telescopic adjustment for the steering wheel.
e Deliver 3 Exterior
Except for a closed grille at the front, which signifies that it is an electric vehicle, the Maxus e Deliver 3 looks like a conventional cargo van with its boxy appeal and basic appearance. While the design is a good approach for cargo vehicle buyers, it could have been made a bit better looking, as some of the design elements make it look a tad too basic.
As said above, a closed grille graces the front profile of the Maxus e Deliver 3. Here, a big trapezoidal closed element is adorned with the Maxus logo, which is flanked with two additional trapezoidal closed elements on its sides. The angular sweptback headlamps here look basic with their all-halogen setup while coming integrated with clear lens turn indicators. Here, the front bumper looks a bit swanky with its inverted L-shaped daytime running LEDs on both of its corners. There is a hexagonal air dam present in the middle of the front bumper, which comes with honeycomb inserts.
While the front profile still looks good and a bit out-of-the-box, the side profile has a very basic appeal with a traditional boxy design from B-pillar onwards. The A-pillar, door handle and rearview mirrors are blacked out, while the window waistline for the driver cab is set a bit higher than usual. As in other commercial goods carrier vans, the rear window panels are closed in the Maxus e Deliver 3. The steel wheels here look barren without the presence of proper wheel caps. The Maxus e Deliver 3 has a very generic appeal like any other conventional cargo van, with a vertical setup for tail lamps with curved upper and lower edges and a largely closed windshield at the back.
Maxus e Deliver 3 Ride & Handling
For a commercial vehicle, the Maxus e Deliver 3 feels a bit sturdy with its suspension combination of independent Macpherson struts at the front and leaf springs at the rear. The cargo area of the Maxus e Deliver 3 is partitioned using a glass panel, with the cargo area floor made of steel and having six strapping rings.
e Deliver 3 Engine & Fuel Consumption
The Singapore car market gets the Maxus e Deliver 3 with only one powertrain option, which is a combination of a 90 kW electric motor and a 52.5 kWh lithium-ion battery. The electric motor produces 255 Nm of torque and propels the van to a maximum speed of 120 kmph. The lithium-ion battery here offers a range of 243 km in a combined driving cycle (as tested in WLTP conditions) and takes 8 hours to charge using an AC power supply and 45 minutes to charge up to 80 per cent using a DC power supply.
Maxus e Deliver 3 Braking & Safety
For a commercial vehicle, the Maxus e Deliver 3 has a decently long safety equipment list comprising automatic headlamps, cruise control, ABS, dual front airbags, electronic stability control, engine immobilizer and reverse parking sensors with a camera.
e Deliver 3 Verdict
While the Maxus e Deliver 3 impresses with its powertrain and well-appointed interior cabin, its ownership experience needs to improve with a better focus on fit and finish levels and better service experience, which can improve its long term reliability even more.
