Mazda releases another teaser for CX-60

We cannot be more excited that the time for Mazda’s new launch, the premium CX-60 is almost here. And now that the launch day is inches away (on March 8th, to be precise), the company has released a brand new video teaser to showcase the upcoming SUV’s interior design!

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • When will Mazda unveil the new CX-60?

Mazda will unveil the new CX-60 on March 8, 2022.
  • Mazda’s Large Product group’s first product is the CX-60, to be followed by the CX-90, CX-70 for the US, and the CX-80 model for the global market. In addition, the CX-60 will be appearing in the European market as of now.

Mazda has already revealed that the CX-60 will be its first plug-in hybrid model. So we can expect a four-cylinder 2.5L petrol engine along with an electric motor. Therefore, we can assume that the total power output will be around 300 hp. What’s more, the car will have a rear-wheel-drive and front-engine layout - something Mercedes-Benz and BMW popularized with their premium vehicles.

While we couldn’t spot much in the new teaser, we did find some interesting features that are guaranteed to enhance the premiumness of the CX-60. Mazda is ready to take up the SUV’s cabin quality to the highest level.

The vehicle’s dashboard comes covered in fabric that has been stitched according to the Japanese bookbinding concept, the Musubu. On the other hand, the vehicle has light-colored wood decor for the doors decorated with a chrome filet. We love how the overall traditional designs perfectly complement the modern vehicle features.

They have taken inspiration from Kaicho, a concept that refers to the mixture of different textures and materials. Mazda will also include some beautiful chrome trim, Japanese textiles, Nappa leather, and maple wood to furnish the luxurious interior.

This is not the first teaser. The previous exterior trailers of the SUV hinted at a huge stance, a short front overhang, a long bonnet, and the traditional RWD proportions. The vehicle also sports fake front fender vents, a large angular grille, and a pair of small two-tier headlights.

We cannot wait for the official vehicle launch. For more news, stay tuned!
