Next-gen Hyundai Creta debuts in Russia

Hyundai has introduced its second-generation version of the Creta in Russia. The second-gen facelift is all about updates from its front to its rear, and on the inside as well. The SUV now gets updated engine options, along with new styling and some commendable features, with an aim to keep dominating the charts of the local market there.

On the exterior, we can see that the automaker has tweaked the design. While it is similar to the ongoing model, the Russia-spec Creta now comes with an upgraded new front grille that keeps the stance of the car seemingly similar to the front face of the latest SUV launched by the brand, called Alcazar.

The refreshed grille resonates with the same hexagonal grille as present in the Creta, with a less curvy approach that it previously had. The front bumper of the car also has slightly larger air dams. Also new is a restyled boot lid. Overall, the car now is more oriented to a sleek-looking sports car than before.

Moving in, the automaker has kept the interiors minimal and the same as compared to the recently launched Alcazar. It resonates a similar sense of styling with a refreshed dashboard design. In fact, the schematics inside also present a similar colour tone in black-brown settings.

In terms of mechanical setup, the SUV gets two petrol engine choices to choose from. The first is a 1.6L engine giving out 124 hp of maximum power while the second option is a 2.0L 150hp mill that is naturally aspirated. Both the engines are paired to a 6-speed manual or an optional 6-speed automatic transmission option.

The production of the all-new Hyundai Creta in Russia will commence on July 1, 2021, while its launch is expected later this year.
