The interior cabin of this Hyundai Tucson is completely different from its pre-facelift avatar, which makes it in line with the recent design trends. And what makes this cabin even a more desirable place to be in is the impeccable levels of quality and fit and finish.

The all-new multi-functional steering wheel looks nice and so does the simple-looking instrument console, the latter of which looks sober with a fuss-free design. At the centre of the dashboard, there is a free mounted touchscreen infotainment system, which has tapered side edges and rounded lower edges.

Just below the infotainment system, there are sleek AC vents, below which there is a large automatic climate control panel which has rounded upper edges. This entire interior cabin can be had in one of the two themes of either a dual-tone black and beige upholstery or an all-black upholstery.

The facelifted Hyundai Tucson might not look as fresh as all the other new-generation Hyundai SUVs in the world, as it is still hasn’t adorned the latest design philosophy of Hyundai. However, it still continues to be a fresh and modern design, which has the ability to attract people with its fluidic design theme.

The front fascia of the Hyundai Tucson looks aggressive with the cascading grille, which has become a common trademark in all the Hyundai cars. This cascading grille has chrome surrounds and has the wing-like sweptback headlamps placed adjacent to its upper edges.

The headlamps look brilliant with their triple LED projector and inverted L-shaped daytime running LEDs. The large fog lamp housings are divided into two partitions, with the upper one having fog lamps as well as the extension of daytime running LEDs and the lower one having small air dams.

The Hyundai Tucson has a curvy profile when viewed from the sides, with a slightly sloping bonnet, rounded roofline, and smooth window waistline. The rounded wheel arches come with side body cladding, and the roof rails and heightened stance do give it a profile of an SUV. To make it look even more premium, the door handles as well as window waistline are finished in chrome.

At the back, the Hyundai Tucson looks simple and elegant with a clean boot lid design with a higher loading lip. The horizontally laid curvaceous LED tail lamps do come with revised LED inserts.

The overall ability of the Hyundai Tucson to glide over rough pathways may not be as great as other full-spec SUVs priced similarly to it. However, for the urban driving routine, the Hyundai Tucson feels nearly perfect with its light-weighted steering and supple setup for the Macpherson struts at the front and multi-link at the rear.

There are two engine and transmission options to choose from in the Hyundai Tucson. First is a more conventional 2.0-litre four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine, which is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission and makes 154 PS of power and 192 Nm of torque. On the other hand, there is a 1.6-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, which produces 177 PS of power and 265 Nm of torque, and is mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.

The Hyundai Tucson is armed with many safety amenities, the list of which includes front, side, and curtain airbags, ABS with EBD and brake assist, electronic stability control, traction control, blind-spot collision warning, auto cruise control, rear cross-traffic alert, and reverse parking sensors with camera.

For making tour urban driving smooth and comfortable, but with an elevated stance, the Hyundai Tucson feels perfect. The modern cool styling has aged well and still feels relevant without the latest design theme of Hyundai’s next-generation SUVs, and the interior quality is comparable to SUVs from one segment above.
