Nissan Z Proto revealed
After years of wait, Nissan has finally introduced the world to the 370Z replacement, the 400Z. Although the vehicle is still in its prototype, it will be one of the most iconic speedsters by Nissan at the time of its arrival in 2021.
The car was recently unveiled at an online event from Yokohama, Japan. The first look at the Z prototype already made it a show stopper. The Z Proto was seen wrapped in a shade of pearlescent yellow paint besides carrying a hue of black which is contrasted over the roof, its low-profile spoiler, and wing mirrors. The car seems to have adapted to similar styling cues as the classical Z with its sloped design approach.
The approach resembles a cluster of several design adaptions from the previous generations of the Z lineup. Considering the exterior design elements, the Z Proto is a cluster of creases, curves, and sculpted lines which all together add on to the overall aerodynamical approach of the car. The redesign of the car is evident from its front end itself.
The Z Proto gets a rectangular grille that is much smaller when compared to the iconic 1970 Datsun 240Z’s air inlet. This new grille represents an elongated oval pattern, adding to the depth in its design besides carrying clean lines that run across the car’s exterior. Overall, the car comes with angular headlights and rectangular taillights that adds on to the stubby boot.
Wrapping the exterior design of the car are touches of carbon-fibre which can be seen across the side skirts, front lower lip, and rear end of the car. The 19-inch alloy wheels also come with a touch of carbon fibre.
While there are no technical specifications on the upcoming “400Z,” the car is expected to run on a 4.0L engine. However, rumors also suggest a twin-turbo 3.0L powertrain, adapted from the Infiniti Q60 Red Sport 400, giving out 400 horsepower.
Moving to the interiors of the car, the cabin space presents a similar modern retro design approach. It is present in tones of yellow and black. Other interior highlights include a fully digital 12.3-inch instrument cluster.
Lastly, the car might be seen in the Singapore market by 2022.
