Porsche expects to record highest sales in 2022

    Porsche’s executive board member, Detlev von Platen, who is responsible for marketing and sales, informed Automobilwoche that after seeing the current orders, he is confident about 2022. According to him, sales growth will reach a similar high compared to 2021.

    Detlev von Platen also added that customers might face a longer delivery time thanks to the high demand. According to him, based on the number of cars being ordered, the wait time can range from several months to a year.

    Last year, Porsche’s sales saw an impressive 11% increase from 2020 as they sold 301,915 cars globally. If they maintain this growth, their sales volume will cross 335,000 units this year. Porsche’s best-selling car for 2021 was the Macan with almost 88,362 deliveries, while the second best-selling car was the Cayenne with 83,071 unit sales.

    Porsche was not the only premium brand that reported an increase in its sales in 2021. Other premium brands like Rolls-Royce and Bentley too recorded a growth in sales. While Bentley scored an impressive 31% growth in 2021, Roll-Royce reached a new target. They recorded a 49% increase in sales in January - their highest ever annual figure since their foundation in 1906.
