When it comes to the interiors, the Toyota RAV4 looks quite modern and much more appealing from the Toyotas of the past. However, the overall layout still falls a couple of notches below its competitors when it comes to the visual aura, and looks pretty plain for its segment.

Having said that, the Toyota RAV4 manages to look upmarket with a comprehensive instrument console having a large coloured TFT MID screen in the middle of it. Another trendy bit here is the large pop-up style touchscreen infotainment system. With a long V-shaped centre boss with silver inserts, the steering wheel too looks and feels nice and premium.

The centre console in the lower part of the dashboard has a minimalist appeal to it and gets sleek looking trapezoidal AC vents and an equally sleek looking console for the climate control buttons. The transmission tunnel looks wide and gets satin silver finish on its side edges.

Justifying its upmarket positioning, the Toyota RAV4 is bestowed upon with premium features including a panoramic sunroof, leather upholstery, ambient lighting, and powered front seats. The SUV also is a well sought-after vehicle with clever space management. 

When it comes to the exterior design, Toyota deserves praises for the way it has designed the RAV4. With its bold and muscular stance coupled with contemporary lines and cues, the Toyota RAV4 possesses a go-anywhere visual ability, and that too witjout compromising on its urban appeal.

The Toyota RAV4 boasts of a smart looking upright stance, and has a wide front fascia, at the centre of which sits a trapezoidal grille. This grille has tapered edges on its lower corners and gets a sleek looking thin strip of air vent above it. This sleek lining above the grille blends with the big in size trapezoidal headlamps, which have full LED illumination.

The small fog lamps are nestled within scooped angular housings, which along with the heavy cladding on the lower edges of the bumper and silver finished skid plates, give a rugged persona to the RAV4.

From the sides, the Toyota RAV4 has got an air of boldness with unique and large looking trapezoidal wheel arches and black strip on the C-pillar, the latter of which gives a floating roof effect to the SUV. However, the bland design for the alloy wheels robes off some of its appeal.

Continuing the bold persona generated at the front towards the rear as well, the Toyota RAV4 gets angular tail lamps. Here too, the SUV is fitted with tough-looking body cladding and skid plates to round off the macho appeal.

With a very sturdy suspension setup consisting of Independent MacPherson struts with stabiliser bar at the front and trailing wishbone with stabiliser bar at the rear, the Toyota RAV4 performs equally well over all kinds of surfaces with equal poise. The multiple drive modes on offer also help the RAV4 in adjusting to various terrains it drives over.

In the Singapore market, the Toyota RAV4 has a 2.0-litre four cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine under its hood. Coupled to a simple CVT gearbox, this engine produces a maximum power output of 170 PS, while the peak torque output is rated at 203 Nm.

The Toyota RAV4 has a sufficiently long list of safety features, which includes front, side, curtain and knee airbags, ABS with EBD and brake assist, pre collision system with pedestrian detection, lane departure alert with steering assist, lane tracing assist, road sign assist, adaptive cruise control, vehicle stability control, traction control, parking sensors with rear camera and tire pressure monitoring system.

The Toyota RAV4 has an equal amount of ruggedness and urban appeal in its overall design, which widens it as a viable option for all kinds of buyers. The tough mechanics and reliable powertrain ensures that it follows the tradition of other Toyota SUVs.
