Toyota Vellfire

On the inside, things take a drastic turn in the Toyota Vellfire, as the overall cabin layout looks much more subtle and pleasing uniformly to the eyes. The cabin is a good mix of black and beige upholstery finish and has a hood lounge-like experience with captain seats in the second row which are fully reclinable and ambient lighting.

The dashboard looks futuristic yet subtle, with coloured MID screen in the instrument console and a high mounted centre console which houses the modern touchscreen infotainment system with Apple Carplay and Android Auto and the panel of three-zone automatic climate control placed just below it on an angular panel.

The cabin of the Toyota Vellfire is equipped with premium features like sunroof, electric boot release, power sliding doors, three-zone automatic climate control, powered and ventilated front seats, rear AC vents and fully reclinable second-row Ottoman seats.

The Toyota Vellfire has an incredible road presence and is easily the most exuberant MPV out there when it comes to design. The very unique design language of the Vellfire is easily one of its kind, however, the MPV might look a bit overboard to many who like MPVs to look as simple and sober as possible.

The extrovert character of the Toyota Vellfire is very much evident the moment you see it head-on. The MPV looks bulky and chubby? With a sharply raked windscreen ending up on a slanted bonnet, which finished up at quite a height.

The vertical high grille is huge and boasts of a thick chrome slab, below of which there are two separate horizontal slats. The Vellfire comes with a split headlamp theme, which does get a full LED lighting theme and are spread at the front like wings. The front bumper looks rather simple and houses the small round fog lamps.

From the sides too, the Toyota Vellfire has an exuberant appearance, with an inverted theme for the middle window panel which flows all the way to the edge of the tail lamp to form the window waistline. The smooth contours just below the window waistline and above the fenders make it look smooth despite having a boxy shape.

At the rear, the Toyota Vellfire has an almost flat design, with a vertically laid windscreen at the bottom edges of which are placed clear lens vertically laid but large LED tail lamps. 

The ride quality is one of the strongest fortes of the Toyota Vellfire, as the Macpherson struts at the front and double wishbone at the rear provide one of the smoothest experiences to be on the road. However, the boxy appearance of the Vellfire has a slightly negative impact on its body roll as well.

The Toyota Vellfire gets its thrust from a 2.5-litre four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine under its hood, which is paired to a CVT gearbox as standard. The engine produces a healthy power output of 179 PS and a peak torque output of 235 Nm. The engine feels decently powerful, however, the gearbox feels lazy at times.

Being a top-notch luxury van, the Toyota Vellfire is brimmed up with supreme safety features such as front, side, curtain and knee airbags, ABS with EBD and brake assist, vehicle stability control, traction control, hill start assist, front and rear parking sensors and rearview camera.

The immensely luxurious and spacious cabin of the Toyota Vellfire makes it one of the most comfortable places to be in. While the overall styling might draw polarised opinions, the plush interior cabin definitely makes up for it. However, from the driving point of view, the overall experience is not so enthusiastic.
