2022 Nissan Almera now on sale in Philippines
Nissan has officially launched the all-new Almera in the Philippines with different transmission options. The brand has recently launched other cars in the market, such as the Leaf, the refreshed Navara, and the new Terra.
There are four Almera variants on offer - EL Turbo MT, VE Turbo MT, VE Turbo CVT, and the top of the line, VL Turbo N-Sport CVT.
The car comes with a fresh design and sharp LED headlights. A new V-Motion grille can be found in the front fascia that aids in offering an aggressive front look. Moving to the rear, we can observe many changes as it now gets new tail lights and bumper. The car will be available in six paint schemes - Brilliant Silver, Galaxy Black, Gun Metallic, Premium Corona Orange, Pearl White, and Cayenne Red.
The NPI president and managing director, Atsushi Najima, said, “The all-new Almera is the smart and stylish sedan that first-time owners, growing families, and young professionals can trust. As part of Nissan’s transformation plan in the Philippines, we are offering a unique and exciting challenger in the competitive passenger car segment.”
Getting inside the car, you will get a new dark-colored cabin that looks very sporty. Moreover, it also comes with a leather-wrapped steering wheel and leather seats in the top variant. Meanwhile, you get fabric seats in lower variants.
When it comes to the powertrain, all the variants feature the same 1.0 litre three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, which is capable of churning out 99 hp of maximum power and 152 Nm of peak torque.
The power is sent to the front wheels via an Xtronic CVT gearbox. If you opt for a five-speed manual gearbox, then the engine will generate 160 Nm of torque.
There are various useful features on offer such as a 360-degree-view monitor, intelligent emergency braking, forward-collision warning, blind-spot warning, vehicle dynamic control, EBD, hill-start assist, and more.
The braking performance is good as it comes with ventilated discs at the front and drum units at the rear. The suspension duties on the new Almera are handled by MacPherson struts at the front and a torsion beam at the rear.
The 2022 Nissan Almera price starts at PHP 728,000 (S$ 19455) for the base variant and goes up to PHP 1.098 million (S$ 29342) for the top variant.
