2023 Honda HR-V has arrived

Honda has unveiled the exterior of the upcoming 2023 HR-V ahead of its in the US. The front fascia of the second generation of the compact crossover, which has been heavily revamped, now features a refreshed nose, wide lower end, and a grille that is not only more angular but also a lot more striking than before. A hexagonal pattern further enhances the grille’s distinct appearance. There are also vertical air inlets in the corners of the bumper.

Sitting higher than on the current-generation model, the headlamps on the all-new 2023 Honda HR-V are slim and elongated. The hood is also longer than before and features a sculpted centre portion that merges into the new nose. Moving to the side profile, the rear door handles now sit in their conventional positions, and not on the C-pillars. The shoulder lines aren’t as sharp as they were on the previous-generation model.

At the back, the taillights are sleeker and smaller, while the rake for the rear pillar is steeper. As far as the interior is considered, Honda is yet to drop a clue. Moreover, as for the mechanicals, the new HR-V shares its chassis with the newest iteration of the Civic. "HR-V will feature a more responsive engine and a new independent rear suspension, giving the compact SUV a more confident, refined and fun-to-drive personality,” Honda officials said.

Experts believe the SUV will ditch the current 1.8-litre four-pot that makes 141hp. If the SUV is to get the Civic’s powertrains, the sedan in the US market gets a 2.0-litre four-cylinder making 158hp and a turbocharged 1.5-litre four-cylinder that is capable of churning out 180hp of maximum power.

As we mentioned before, the 2023 Honda HR-V will be launched in the US sometime in June later this year. Furthermore, the Japanese SUV may also make its way to some of the South American markets after the US release.
