Audi A6 base model gets more power and sportier appearance for 2021

Audi's entry-level A6 sedan is all set to come up with a twist for the 2021 model year. The new Sport 45 TFSI model will now come with enhanced power besides receiving technological upgrades and several tweaks around its cosmetic appearance via a newly introduced package.

To begin with, the Audi A6 base will come with several tweaks around its body with the Black Optic exterior package. The pack introduces a black grille, revised air intakes and new mirror and window trims that now come as standard. The car’s black headliner is also included in the standard equipment. 

Delivering power to the base variant is a finetuned turbocharged 2.0L gasoline engine that has been engineered to deliver an additional 13 hp, making a total output of 261 horsepower. However, the torque in the new 2.0L stays the same at 370 Nm. Power is channeled to the Quattro all-wheel-drive system with the help of a seven-speed, dual-clutch automatic transmission. 

While there have been no words on improvement in the overall performance of the vehicle, the last generation of the A6 required 6.1 seconds to hit the speed of 96 kmph, topping out at a total speed limit of 209 kmph.

Moving inside, the base-level A6 adapts to upgraded technology that can be seen in Audi's MMI infotainment/navigation system helping the car to set a different pace than others in driver-centric performance. The other interior features of the car include a three-zone automatic climate control besides heated eight-way power leather front seats. 

The overall contrast of the smartly tweaked cabin can be seen via contrast stitching that now comes as standard. New safety features around the car include rear cross-traffic alert, vehicle exit warning, and adaptive cruise control.

Lastly, the 2021 Audi A6 is priced at $55,400 (SGD 75,750) before applying a mandatory $1,045 (SGD 1430) destination fees.
