Audi Q4 E-Tron Sportback is likely to launch next year; Concept form looks mind-boggling

Audi has been one of the most active automakers in the Singapore market. Keeping the German automaker’s recent reputation in mind, we can expect the Q4 E-Tron Sportback to be unveiled here soon.

Audi’s E-Tron lineup is one of the most talked-about electric cars in the industry. The automaker already has the E-Tron crossover and the E-Tron GT sedan in its portfolio and the inclusion of the Q4 E-Tron Sportback will just expand the lineup further. The car is presently in its concept form and might wear the production-ready guise by next year.

As per the images that we have seen of the Audi Q4 E-Tron Sportback concept, the car looks quite close to a production-ready form, save for a few extremely sharp cuts in the front face. The front angle of the concept shows a faux front grille with the Audi logo. There are skid plates both in the front as well as the rear. Audi might continue to add its Matrix LED headlamps in this one too.

At the rear, the Q4 E-Tron Sportback concept gets a one-piece spoiler at the end of the boot. A thin strip of LED lights joins the two tail lights. Get inside and you will be greeted with a flat top and bottom steering wheel and a classy looking 12.3-inch infotainment screen. The driver’s console behind the steering is a digital unit too. Audi claims to have used recycled raw materials for the seats and floorboard.

Mechanically, the Audi Q4 E-Tron Sportback concept has two electric motors, one for each axle. These motors will receive the energy from an 82kWh battery pack. The motor on the front axle can produce up to 100 hp, while the one of the back churns out up to 201 hp, which clearly indicates its sporty rear-wheel biased drive. The car is claimed to hit the 100 kmph mark in 6.3 seconds before hitting a maximum of 180 kmph limit.

Once launched, this Audi Q4 E-Tron Sportback will be the automaker’s seventh electric vehicle. And since Audi promised 20 new EVs by 2025, get ready to see some great launches in the years to come.
