Audi teases its Skysphere again, this time with a few details

While it has been only a few days that Audi teased its trio of “sphere” concepts, the automaker has made the headlines for doing the same again. However this time, with a few more details. With just a few days left in the unveiling of the next-generational Skysphere Concept, the German marque decided to increase the hype by providing us with the latest previews, including a part of the concept's wheel design.

Previously, the automaker highlighted its innovative design by giving us a peek into the front and rear profiles of the upcoming Skysphere concept, besides its overall shape. Now, with the recently teased wheel design, the automaker has given the car a sporty and unique touch.

Further, the latest teaser also provides us with a clear view of the front and rear fascias of the upcoming concept from multiple angles. Overall, the latest teaser reveals the car's meticulously designed edgy front and rear profiles, red Audi logo, and a contemporary futuristic look, among others.

Talking about their updated design language that will be seen in the future Audi cars, the Head of Design, Marc Lichte, and Audi’s Senior Vice President, Henrik Wenders talked extensively about the inspiration behind the Skysphere Concept. They said that the car derives its inspiration from the Horch 853A, particularly in the case of its front profile with its long nose and smoothly sculpted rear.

While it’s obvious that the front, long nose of the car will be virtually empty since the Skysphere is expected to be an electric vehicle. However, the automaker plans to make the Skysphere a compelling driver's car that can perform autonomous motoring.

Talking of its powertrain, the car will be one of the first to ride on Volkswagen’s Scalable Systems Platform (SSP). This module system is said to utilize the group’s unified-cell battery, giving out a range of up to 600 km.

Lastly, the upcoming car is expected to draw its power from an 800-volt electric architecture that might pick up 350 kW of DC fast charging.
