BMW iX electric SUV breaks cover, check all the details here

BMW has finally unveiled its highly-anticipated iNEXT electric SUV with a twist. The new car is known as the ‘BMW iX’ on the global stage. Expected to be the “new age in mobility,” the iX is a newly introduced lineup that is expected to strengthen the brand’s electric venture further.

Developed over a new modular, scalable architecture, this car is truly unique in its appeal and sets a distinctly separate image from the likes of the current i3 and i8 models. The automaker has ditched its carbon fibre LifeDrive to come up with something new for this vehicle.

The major USP of the SUV revolves around its power unit that is developed via eDrive powertrain technologies, delivering greater performance and range. However, besides its design feature, the iX is the production version of the Vision iNEXT concept.

Around its exterior, enthusiasts can easily notice the massive vertical double kidney grille that BMW has been putting up in almost every production car. Adding aggressive styling to the front end of the car are eyebrow-style LED DRL headlights that will also be available with optional Laserlight technology.

Other instances of improved design can be seen around the squared-off fender bulges that add to the aggressive looks and mean stance of the iX. The car also runs on a sexy set of wheels that are optimized for better aerodynamics and available in options of between 20 and 22 inches in diameter.

Another exciting factor about the iX is its self-healing polyurethane coating that covers the owners over minor damages.

Although the automaker has not revealed much info around the powertrain of the iX, BMW announced that it would be able to churn out a power output of more than 495 hp. Moreover, the largest battery option available in the powertrain will give out above 100 kWh in outputs.

Lastly, the car’s interiors resonate with a minimalist design paired with premium luxury across the cabin.
