BMW unveils new DC Fast Chargers
KUALA LUMPUR: BMW has introduced new DC Fast Chargers thus reaffirming the brand’s commitment towards electrification. It is the first of the many DC Fast Chargers the brand will install at BMW dealers across Malaysia.
The automaker is in plans to soon open the new DC Fast Charger and other BMW Rapid-Charging DC Chargers at selected dealerships for the public.
Let’s know a bit about the new BMW D
- The DC Fast Chargers are rated at 180 kW which is more than the 150 kW supported by the iX and iX3, meaning both the cars charge at full speed and will charged 80% in 30 minutes
- It features twin Combined Charging System connectors, meaning two cars can be charged simultaneously
BMW Group Malaysia Managing Director Hans de Visser while speaking about the new addition said, “We have been driving the change towards electrification not only with our growing portfolio of electrified vehicles, but also by expanding the local charging infrastructure network across the country.”
He added, “We partnered with GreenTech Malaysia from the get-go to ensure a functioning ecosystem for electromobility to thrive in, and are continuing to deliver on that commitment alongside our network of dedicated dealers – not just for BMW and MINI owners, but for [all> electric vehicle owners in Malaysia,”
“We are confident that this move will be mutually beneficial in ensuring charging infrastructures are more accessible across the country, and help alleviate the concerns of potential EV owners in Malaysia such as range anxiety.”
